One would expect swelling to subside several weeks (sometimes longer) after nasal valve surgery. You have to be patient and follow instructions in particular regarding nasal care. Dry nose, crusting and irritation may prolong swelling and nose obstruction. Be patient, use nasal spray and saline gel and stay in touch with your surgeon. Good luck

Nasal valve surgery is not as invasive as an entire rhinoplasty. With rhinoplasty, swelling will continue for up to 6 months. With nasal valve surgery, swelling should resolve within 2 months (estimate).
At this time, hopefully you will appreciate improvement in symmetry at this time.
Surgery of the nose is challenging. Even a few millimeters causes a difference in symmetry.
Sensation will most likely return to normal. Numbness most often resolves. I hope this helps!

I do not know the particular method that was used to deal with your nasal valve collapse, however almost all methods after a period of time should and will look natural and even. Any grafts placed will eventually smooth out if the type and size were correct. All grafts tend to stay swollen for 6-12 months. Any simple cutting and sewing procedures inside the nose should heal even quicker on the order of three months or so. If there is asymmetry after 9-12 months go back and see the doctor for possible revision work

There are many post surgery side effects after surgery. You need to have the appropriate post surgery checkups to make sure that everything is healing well and also to receive the best post surgery indications. You need to consult with your doctor about the swelling. He needs to physically evaluate your nose and help you understand the process. Good luck!
Swelling and numbness are normal after most nasal surgeries. These will gradually resolve over time. Head elevation and limitation of heavy activities can help the process proceed more rapidly. Because you had surgery on only one nostril, asymmetry (differences in appearance due to swelling) is normal.
