  1. Ask DoctorBase is a free service for patients on the DoctorBase platform - currently servicing over 6 million American patients of record.
  2. All answers submitted by healthcare professionals (you) are for entertainment purposes only and do not constitute doctor-patient relationships. All patients must agree to this before using Ask DoctorBase.
  3. Our software and our Marketing Engineering staff review each answer and optimize your answers for keywords valuable to your specialty. It is a well kept secret that doctors (you) - not SEO consultants - are the ones who have the most valuable content prized by search engines. Ask DoctorBase "unlocks and optimizes" your content in the most efficient manner possible with today's technology.
  4. Finally, the doctor who provides the most popular answer - "the Featured Answer," gets an added benefit by allowing patients to write rave reviews about your expertise - reviews that are submitted to both Google and Google Local through our Preferred Data Provider relationship.

Sharp pain in vagina

Me and my girlfriend have been trying to have sex for months but each time during penetration she feels pain in the roof of her vagina toward the opening. But if I push down, left or right the other walls don't hurt and she says it feels fine. I think it might be nerve damage from trauma she received a few years back. She thinks she just not use to the feeling because she doesn't practice fingering herself either. But I don't see any harm in asking a professional for help.

There are many potential issues that could be causing this pain. One possibility is an infection or lesion in the urethra, the tube connecting the bladder to the outside. She needs a thorough pelvic exam to evaluate the exact location and cause of the pain. Best of luck!
This area should be examined to determine the cause

of the sharp pain, so it can be treated effectively.
Fingering probably not hygienic. Probably wise to have gyn exam(pelvic exam) to check vagina& bladder. It is also possible there is some pathology in the wall.

My advice is to have her see a gynecologist so that a thorough exam can be performed.
