Silicone breast implant rupture are usually silent and present in the form of gradual hardening of the breast implant. The body forms a normal scar capsule around the breast implant, saline or silicone immediately after a breast augmentation. This capsule usually contains any rupture of silicone making it a silent process. Typically, if there is a worry about a rupture or leak, a scheduled appointment with a plastic surgeon would be appropriate.

Consider following up with your original plastic surgeon if possible. The insurance may or may not cover this situation. You could also consider calling a plastic surgeon that participates with your insurance to determine if this is a covered service or not.

If you have asymptomatic changes, you should be able to wait until your insurance kicks in. As far as we know, there are no harmful effects from the presence of silicone gel in your tissue. When your insurance starts, you will need to find a plastic surgeon who participates with your plan. If you cannot find any, try University training programs close to your home. They will be able to help you determine if this is a covered benefit or not.

A change in shape of your breast is likely caused by your implant but without seeing you, it is impossible to tell. There is not usually any reason to go to the ER as it is not an emergency and there is little they can do. An evaluation by a plastic surgeon who has experience with ruptured implants is you best option. I would wait until you insurance is in place although you should be aware that most insurance companies exclude many problems associated with prior cosmetic procedures.

I hope that helps.

Best regards.
you need to contact your palstic surgeon to have this check , you do not need to worry about it to much due to if there is a rupture the implnat is silicone it will not leak around your breast, but still try to gte your appoitment as soone you can.

This problem is not an emergency and you can wait until your insurance begins. Until you see a board-certified plastic surgeon you can request records from your old surgeon which will reveal where the implants were placed in relationship to the pectoralis muscle and what type of implants were used. The board-certified plastic surgeon and his staff will communicate with your insurance plan and see what can be covered. A magnetic resonance image is the gold standard to detect a ruptured silicone implant. If your plastic surgeon makes a determination the implant is ruptured on physical examination and you want new implants you can avoid the magnetic resonance image and your surgeon can proceed directly to removing your implants and placing new implants. Remember, the cost of an emergency room visit without insurance could easily be the equivalent of a plastic surgery procedure which would remove your implants and replace new implants. Best of luck in your endeavors.
Go to a plastic surgeon and it the ER. The consultation is free and you can postpone your surgery until after you regain coverage. However insurances do not always cover these issues

This is not an emergency. Make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon. When your insurance is working, probably some X-rays or an MRI will be suggested and then you can see what is needed for your problem.
Definitely go to a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. This is not an emergency and the ER will simply tell you to do the same. Typically the implant contents and surrounding capsule tissue is removed a new implant placed.
This is not an emergency but you should be seen by a plastic surgeon.. if you are trying to avoid surgery then an MRI should be requested. if you are planning on replacing the implants then there is no need for the study and surgery can be scheduled
