  1. Ask DoctorBase is a free service for patients on the DoctorBase platform - currently servicing over 6 million American patients of record.
  2. All answers submitted by healthcare professionals (you) are for entertainment purposes only and do not constitute doctor-patient relationships. All patients must agree to this before using Ask DoctorBase.
  3. Our software and our Marketing Engineering staff review each answer and optimize your answers for keywords valuable to your specialty. It is a well kept secret that doctors (you) - not SEO consultants - are the ones who have the most valuable content prized by search engines. vomiting blood

Nausea after eating then vomiting blood, not a lot but bright red. Headache followed. Also I've been having severe nausea with bowel movements for months. Only hot bath brings relief. Could they be linked? What could this be?

Hot baths are good medicine, but I would be concerned that there might be something more going on. Vomiting blood is not normal. I would discuss with your doctor. In the meantime I would avoid ibuprofen and all other medications like it.

Best of luck!

Severe nausea associated with bowel movements for months indicates a potentially serious health problem. Vomiting after eating, especially with blood, indicates that the problem has become even more serious, and in someone with vascular problems, can become life-threatening. Please call your doctor and get to her/him and see a gastroenterologist urgently.
Bright red blood in your vomits suggests gastric erosion, which ibuprofen is most likely causing now. You should go to ER so that the active gastric bleeding can be controlled endoscopilly. The ER doctor is most likely to discontinue the ibuprofen until you can be reviewed by your cardiologist. I wish you the best possible outcome.
Yes, agree with colleagues. If you are vomiting blood, and given your vascular problems (prosthetic aorta), I would seek emergent medical care. I would to your local ER and you may likely require an urgent upper endoscopy by a gastroenterologist.

vomiting blood is a serious problem, you need to have upper endoscopy, go to ER and they will take care of you, you do have vascular issues from previous hospitalizations, don't wait, get help quick

and stop the Ibuprofen because it makes things worse
