Hello, as a licensed acupuncturist I can tell you that acupuncture is a great complimentary treatment for RA. It has helped to reduce inflammation and help quality of life for RA patients. To find a good LICENSED practitioner in your area, go towww.acufinder.com. If done by a well-trained acupuncturist, you should have benefits. Acupuncture has many healthy affects on your body's inflammation system, immune function, pain management, and healing mechanism. Speak to a licensed acupuncturist about your particular case to decide the proper frequency and dosage of acupuncture necessary. Give it 5-10 treatments at least twice per week to start seeing a positive change, then you will likely require less frequent ongoing treatments to manage your condition. It may not cure the condition, but if you can reduce or knock out the need for some of the medications taken, you are also eliminating the their negative side effects to your body and mind. Find a well-trained licensed acupuncturist (known as an acupuncture physician in Florida).

Acupuncture has a strong anti-inflammatory effect. This can relieve pain. It is also important to stay away from the nightshade family of foods which include: white potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant. No smoking, processed for, anything with NutraSweet, Aspartame, Phenylaline, or other artificial sweetener. Use natural Stevia, if you must have sugar. The first 3 mentioned can actually mimic RA symptoms and confuse MDs. One patient even went to MAYO and they had no idea what was wrong. It was NutraSweet toxicity!

Thank you for your interest in natural medicine. Acupuncture can treat and help RA, especially when an herbal prescription and diet are addressed. I treat RA and I actually use biopuncture, where a small amount of sterile homeopathic injectable is injected into certain acu points. This method is usually more effective than the standard infusion therapy, and it is healthy for you. You may not have to rely on conventional therapy for RA.

It is definitely worth a try. We have assisted patients with rheumatoid arthritis over the years and have noticed generally positive results. You may also try googling "acupuncture, research, rheumatoid" to get objective study results.

acupuncture was shown, by NIH studies, to demonstrate evidence based benefits for pain and inflammatory states. Inflam. is usually not curable by either western or eastern medicine but can be greatly improved with acupuncture with the possibility of needing less medications also( and signif. reduced pain and swelling). Hello, thanks for your inquiry! Yes, acupuncture helps very much with the pain and irritation caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis. RA is all about inflammation in the joints caused by your immune cells attacking healthy cells. Acupuncture will help primarily by relieving pain and inflammation that will make you feel better. Also, acupuncture may help with the root cause of the disorder, the auto immune response. with treatment, your body will begin to normalize this relationship and allow your joints to heal properly. Herbal medicine is also very effective for this condition.

Hi there,

Yes I think that acupuncture could definitely help with your rheumatoid arthritis. In fact I just had a patient who was seeing a different acupuncturist regularly for five years. She used to have swelling and pain from her fingers to her elbows and now looking at her you couldn't tell at all. She had been seeing her old acupuncturist every two weeks for maintenance, but no doubt started with him at least three times a week at the beginning.

I myself have treated patients with RA using the Dr Tan's Balancing Method, a unique style of acupuncture, with great success. During the treatment fist could be made where before hand they could not.

Also, look into Mercola online and what he recommends for RA in terms of diet. He relates leaky gut to RA and suggests food to bring down inflammation in the GI tract.

Good luck!
