I have lost approximately 10 pounds over 6 months on purpose. This is also when my last TSH was drawn. I am experiencing forgetfulness, moodiness, insomnia, and very occasionally heart palpitations. I have been stable on my.125mcg of Synthroid for many years. I was wondering if a weight loss of 10 pounds could cause my TSH level to now be too low. I am 50 years old and also going through Menopause.

The premenopause and menopause change the metabolic input/output ratio which changes the demands of TSH through biofeedback. Also, quite often, the origins of thyroid imbalance don’t lie within the thyroid or pituitary glands, but rather in other parts of the endocrine system.
