During sex I get a sharp lower pelvic pain and I bleed a lot. I went to my gynecologist and she said I have an angry cervix. She did a pap smear and culture and everything came back fine. This never happened until the past few months. All of a sudden I bleed a lot during and after sex every time I have sex. What could cause this? My gynecologist says everything is fine but I know something is wrong and this is not normal. What should I do?

Severe Bleeding
I agree with your assessment that "this is not normal". I would go to a different provider for a second opinion. The PAP smear could have been misread as normal when in fact it was abnormal (believe it or not this does happen), I would also consider doing a procedure called colposcopy (looking at your cervix with a high powered lens) to see if there is any abnormality. Finally I am not familiar with the term "angry cervix". Good luck.
See another gynecologist - get checks for STDs- specifically trichomonas!
There can be several causes involved: endocervicitis, polyps, trauma, ectropion, BV, urethral meatus, inadequate lubrication, etc.
