Is it suppose to grind when you get a front tooth filled?

I got a filling in my front tooth it feels like my tooth is bigger and sometimes grinds, is that just cause the filling is fresh?

Typically when you have any filling, it will seem different, due to texture of the material used and because it is not the original. If you had a filling, they should have had you bite down on some type of thin paper, which would show any areas that had too heavy of a occlusion. If you were numb during this process and thinking about it more than normal, you may not have been relaxed enough to bite with you natural bite. If you feel like it is still grinding call your dentist and make an appointment to have them check the occlusion. You wont be numb and you can tell them exactly where you are filling the teeth grind or touching more and they can check it and do an adjustment. Hope this helps.

After a filling, your tooth should be exactly the same size as the original. Also your bite should be unchanged after the filling. Sorry about your subpar result.

It may be that there is a little bit too much filling material . You may need to return to your dentist and get the tooth adjusted to the proper position

Not sure what you meant by grinding. I assumed that you meant the filling is high or rough. In either event, you should return to your dentist and explain your concern. The filling should feel smooth and normal. The problem can be rectified by polishing the tooth and adjusting the occlusion.

The tooth should be restored as close as possible to its original size. It should be very similar to the same tooth on the opposite side. It sounds like there could be excess filling material. It's a simple fix if you go back and explain the problem

After having a new filling placed, it will feel different to your tongue there is no doubt about it. You shouldn't feel as if you contact the filling first, this can lead to big issues down the road if you do. If you can feel it with your tongue, you are probably getting food caught on it this can break the bond later on if you get too much bactercia/plaque/or food caught on it. Call your dentist and explain what is happening. A small adjustment will only take you a few minutes. The longer you wait the a bigger issue could develop then you could have more issues.
Occlusion is off. What that means is your filling does not fit your normal bite. Your dentist can adjust your bite back to normal in a few minutes. Do not let it go, make an appointment right away.
If it didn't "grind" before and it does now, we have changed the shape of the tooth. This always changes the relationship with the teeth around it and the teeth its bites against. In short it needs to be adjusted. Go back you dentist. Easy fix. Good luck.
Return to the dentist to have a follow up visit to check the bit alignment and make any necessary adjustments.
No! The filling done well should be checked for unwanted contact while the bite is in contact and when functioning. Most dentists use a carbon type paper to see the excess contact and to eliminate unwanted contacts before you exit the chair. Heavy contacts cause many problems.
