I had protected sex 5 weeks ago. 3 days later I started my period. It was a normal period that lasted a week and had an average amount of bleeding. Now I'm a week late for this month's period. I'm feeling nauseous and have breast tenderness. I'm getting cramps, like I will get my period but have not. Could I be pregnant?

If you plan to terminate, then check the blood HCG level, as over the counter pregnancy tests do not have a 100% accuracy. Cramps are associated with many conditions: ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease, polyps, pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy. I would recommend to see a specialist ASAP for the diagnostic imaging (vaginal sonography). This would answer to all the questions and collaterals.

You did not mention if you have had sex since you last period. If you did I would check a urine pregnancy test. If you have not had sex since your last menstrual period it is very unlikely that you would be pregnant. The symptoms you describe are also common in women right before they get their periods. Have you been late previously and not been pregnant? Some women will be late a few times a year and that can also be "normal". Good luck.
