Dear Pelvic pain,
As a chiropractic physician this is an extremely common complaint in my office and always has to be differentially diagnosed from a musculoskeletal problem vs. a hormonal or internal organ system problem. With the cyclical nature of the pain and incidence of timing, a female specific work-up by your OB/GYN is the first step.
Endometriosis and uterine fibroids are common issues that I see in my office along with musculoskeletal pain syndromes. They can all induce pelvic and lower abdominal pain. Although there are dietary changes that can help, these issues are best managed by your OB/GYN doctor, or a functional medicine specialist.. My recommendation is to schedule an examination with the OB/GYN first to either rule in or rule out those conditions, and then follow-up with your local chiropractic physician if pain continues.
