"Had I realized ahead of time that the first time treatment at Scripps Pediatric includes xrays, a real cleaning, a fluoride treatment and a full exam, I would have hesitated to schedule the appointment and possibly chosen a different facility. I just didn't think my 30year-old would be up to so much activity in a first visit.
But my hats off to the folks at Scripps Pediatric in every way possible. The environment was playful but still serene, the bedside manner of each and every staff member was gentle and calm but also quick and matter of fact about getting the job done.
The end result is that my boy had a great first visit and didn't skimp on any important steps. And days later he's still talking about how good his teeth are and how important that is. And he likes the dentist!" -

"Dr. J - Chase communicated to me that he would like you to communicate with HIM if a procedure is being done (not just mom)...He had a loose tooth and you twisted it out - which at the time was not communicated to him - so he became very tense and nervous. He understands it would have hurt either way and that there was no choice. I only write this in the evaluation because I will forget to tell you all of this I am sure at our next visit! He's actually really good about doing things like shots and drawing blood if you tell him all the steps and process...so I am sure he will be the same with all dental procedures."

"I have a very sensitive child but after his first check up with Dr. J my son left the dentist office and his first words were "That was fun!" He had to return for some more invasive procedures, but the dentist explained everything to me in detail and was excellent about calming my son, the nurses held his hand and even though there was a tiny tear or two he left with no fears of the dentist and was over the experience and on with his day. I wish I had access to such a caring, gentle and state of the art facility when I was a kid."

My experience with Scripps Pediatric Dentistry may have redeemed the profession for me. Dr. J. was very informative and helpful, and I really got the feeling that he cared about my child's health. I was very impressed that Dr. J. helped me feel confident that I could handle any mouth accident or trauma that my daughter might experience. I felt that Laura was very skillful and competent with my "less than thrilled" 14-month-old daughter.

"We took our son in for the first dentist visit and found out he had 5 cavities. We were worried about the sedation and how it was going to affect him. Friday 6am appointment, I was surprised how fast the shot/sedation took place. He didn't even cry or knew it was coming which was helpful. 2 hours later, he came out a little woozy, but knew he was in Mommy's arms. So all in all, it was a good procedure."

"My daughter is four and I know that she's gonna cry when she gets to your place.But the staffs are very welcoming, they made her comfortable by showing and letting her play with there tools, that way she's not gonna get scared. They also allowed me to see everything and be right next to her. Staffs are very cheerful, friendly, gentle and patient, which was wonderful for a first time dental visit."

"Great for kids and parents!
Dr. J is really great with the kids, and also with answering my many Mom questions. My 5 yr old had a cavity filled and she had a good experience with this. Dr. J was kind and patient. Laura his dental assistant has the same qualities. The office is immaculate, kid friendly, and conveniently located! The only reason I didn't give a 5 is that they seem to still be getting some administrative stuff/insurance billing smoothed out, but that is surely just part of having a new practice. That won't stop me from bringing my kids there."
