What is this bump on my genitals and how can I treat it at home?

I had sex with my girlfriend the day after I shaved and I don't know if it's a blister from friction that got infected, or an ingrown hair, but it is quite painful. I've been cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide and putting heat on it, but it really hasn't gotten any better. Help?

Looks like a bacterial folliculitis to me , also. Clean with peroxide and apply bacitracin and make an appointment to see your physician for oral antibiotics. You may need a culture or testing for herpes simplex.

This looks uncomfortable and you describe the painfulness. I think it is important to see your PCP/dermatologist and have what is known as a bacterial and viral culture. Your dermatologist will perform a simple test in the office to determine if it is a virus known as herpes simplex which is treatable. Topical and oral antibiotics will be prescribed to cover the possibility of a bacterial infection. Of course it is a good idea to practice safety when in contact with partners. Hold off on the hydrogen peroxide and shaving the area. A lukewarm compress (washcloth) applied to the area may help with the inflammation and over the counter analgesics may assist with the discomfort. If the redness worsens or if you feel feverish, please seek medical attention. Feel better soon.

Dr appointment time.
Take long, warm epsom salt baths every night until it resolves, or you can take sitz baths--which are baths in which just the genitals are submerged. I wouldn't worry too much, but you want to help it drain. It is not cellulitis, so I don't think oral antibiotics are really warranted.
you should see a doctor this looks like it is an infected hair follicle

but I can not tell for certain via a picture
