High fever for 8 days, still no sign of coming down
Fever is a good response and is used to kill bacteria. Studies have shown that lowering the fever with ibuprofen can cause some illnesses to go longer because the bacteria are still around. It is good to find the cause of the infection but until you get to see the bacteria specialist, do the following: NO FOOD--only clear liquids. Food causes the fever to go higher than it normally would. NO FOOD if the fever is above 99. Do not re-feed until fever is below 99 and she is hungry. Do not lower the fever with tylenol or ibuprofen. I know it's uncomfortable, but this is the body's way of killing things. Also, NO SUGAR is allowed during fever, because it lowers immune function by 50%. reason for fever is an immune system reaction to foreign and/or autoimmune issues. your body increases the temperature to create an environment inhospitable for bacteria, viruses, bacteriophages, and fungi. by taking over the counter medication you are in essence interfering with your bodies ability to fight off infection. In some cases strong medication is necessary to help the body when the body cannot do it's job, but for most instances, it is best to support the body with nutrition, rest, light stretching and/or exercise (increases lymphatic flow) and chiropractic adjustments to facilitate nervous system function optimization.

There could be a few problems, including Kawasaki disease and roseola. Kawasaki disease may have atypical presentation, making it hard to diagnose. Other diseases which are hard to diagnose but are very serious may include inner lining of the heart infection and joint infection, however both usually cause noticeable changes in the blood count. Presuming that your doctor did a blood count the likelihood of the serious diseases is low.
Has been 8 days straight? Or were there any days without fever? If it is really 8 straight days, a viral source is less likely, particularly without any other symptoms. Is there a rash? Are her vaccinations up to date? How is she other than the fever? Any bone/joint pain? A yeast infection (systemic not local) is very unlikely in an otherwise healthy individual. A localized infection (e.g., vaginal) would be clearly symptomatic.
She needs the following blood work, at a minimum:
a) complete blood count with differential
b) C-reactive protein
c) erythrocyte sedimentation rate
d) tick panel (if you live in an area where there are ticks)
e) HIV test (if risk factors are present)
Once these results are interpreted, she made need other tests such as a chest X-ray.

She really needs to have some blood test done along with urine test to identify the source of fever. You didn't mention what other symptom, other than fever, she is experiencing, but based on those symptoms she may have to undergo other testing such as chest x-ray, etc. yeast infection may be primary or secondary to weakened immune system. You may need to see an infectious disease specialist to rule out exotic type infections.
