4 Reasons Why Ask DoctorBase is the Most Efficient Way to SEO and Establish Your Brand Online

  1. Ask DoctorBase is a free service for patients on the DoctorBase platform - currently servicing over 6 million American patients of record.
  2. All answers submitted by healthcare professionals (you) are for entertainment purposes only and do not constitute doctor-patient relationships. All patients must agree to this before using Ask DoctorBase.
  3. Our software and our Marketing Engineering staff review each answer and optimize your answers for keywords valuable to your specialty. It is a well kept secret that doctors (you) - not SEO consultants - are the ones who have the most valuable content prized by search engines. Ask DoctorBase "unlocks and optimizes" your content in the most efficient manner possible with today's technology.
  4. Finally, the doctor who provides the most popular answer - "the Featured Answer," gets an added benefit by allowing patients to write rave reviews about your expertise - reviews that are submitted to both Google and Google Local through our Preferred Data Provider relationship.

Ask Dr. Molly if you have questions or want a personal session on how to best use Ask DoctorBase for maximum marketing impact.

Insect sting 40 hrs later - still having symptoms

40 hrs ago I was stung in my big toe by an insect. I think it may have been a scorpion. For reference here is the scorpion common in our area: http://bugguide.net/node/view/16668

I still have mild pain, itchiness, redness, and swelling. I have taken benadryl and put ice and cortisone on it.

Because the symptoms persist, I can't decide if I should see a doctor or NP to verify everything is ok? Or if I should wait another 1-2 days and then see a doctor or NP if symptoms are still there.

As you already have peripheral neuropathy and other pre-existing concomitants, I would advise to see your doctor.

The most likely reason these symptoms continue is that the venom caused nerve damage in the area, so you have a neuropathy with a pinch of complex regional pain syndrome. It is doubtful a NP will have much to offer you but for a lidocaine patch for your toe. I have treated these bites and regional pain syndrome with hyperbaric oxygen with nice results given that HBOT will assist in the repair of peripheral nerves.

See your doctor. If you ever have a question like this you should never take the wait and see approach always ask your doctor. You have other complicating factors that warrant your not taking chances.

The first line of defense for scorpion sting is to put AMMONIA on the bite. try that first and you can also use Tea Tree essential oil for some of the sumptoms.

Thank you so much. I am printing this off to show my neurologist.

I did go to the urgent care clinic and they gave me prednisone (2 days ago) to aid with the swelling. Symptoms are markedly better, however, the neuropathy is a concern to me as I already have nerve damage in my feet.
