Needing to know if this is gaingreen or a bruise under the toe nail. Dropped a heavy thing on toe about 2weeks ago and now this is on the nail plus having pain in the foot I am a diabetic. I'm 46 years old.

more than likley this is not gangrene, the fact that you dropped something heavy on toe and the black spot more than likely says its just a bruise or a small hematoma/collection of blood thats propably already dry. as for the pain that will go away in a matter of a few weeks. if that doesnt go away seek certified podiatrist in your area
It's a bruise and should resolve without any problem, but I agree with others that due the "pain in the foot" and your diabetes, it would be beneficial to have an overall assessment of your feet and to confirm whether it would help to drain the base of the nail and whether an X-ray is warranted.
