Nerve damage?

Hello,

I had what I thought was a wart on the bottom of my foot which started hurting after a pedicurist scraped it with something. Upon walking I have this feeling like I stepped on a nail and the pain radiates into my calf. When I saw a doctor he told me that it is not a wart but a callus and he shaved it off. I still have pain radiating into my calf upon walking and still there is this sensation like my foot stepped on a nail. Could the pedicurist have damaged a nerve when touching it?
