4 Reasons Why Ask DoctorBase is the Most Efficient Way to SEO and Establish Your Brand Online

  1. Ask DoctorBase is a free service for patients on the DoctorBase platform - currently servicing over 6 million American patients of record.
  2. All answers submitted by healthcare professionals (you) are for entertainment purposes only and do not constitute doctor-patient relationships. All patients must agree to this before using Ask DoctorBase.
  3. Our software and our Marketing Engineering staff review each answer and optimize your answers for keywords valuable to your specialty. It is a well kept secret that doctors (you) - not SEO consultants - are the ones who have the most valuable content prized by search engines. Ask DoctorBase "unlocks and optimizes" your content in the most efficient manner possible with today's technology.
  4. Finally, the doctor who provides the most popular answer - "the Featured Answer," gets an added benefit by allowing patients to write rave reviews about your expertise - reviews that are submitted to both Google and Google Local through our Preferred Data Provider relationship.

Ask Dr. Molly if you have questions or want a personal session on how to best use Ask DoctorBase for maximum marketing impact.

Awaiting Diagnosis - Lymph Node Enlargement

Hi, I'd like to get a different take on the possible underlying cause for my swollen deep cervical NON-TENDER lymph nodes on the left. They started 3-3 1/2 weeks ago. There are 2 that can be palpated - zone II cervical nodes. They are approx 3 cm & 2 cm, very firm, but will move slightly & overlying skin moves. I have been tired, decreased appetite, some Slight weight loss & occas abdominal discomfort. Otherwise, I feel fine. ? What infectious rx should I check for?

Deep cervical nodes receive lumphatic vessels from deeper mediastern al (rib cage) structures. Since they are firm but mobile and loose to the skin, I am less coerced about malignancy. What I am more concerned about are chronic granulomatous diseases like tuberculosis, syphilis, tuphoid fever, toxoplasmosis, coccidiomycosis, HIV, etc. Good a thing you have already been evaluated by a provider. Your test results will guide further action. Keep me posted about your test results. Best wishes.
Update, today I received results of FNAC favors reactive lymphadenopathy. I still have no evidence of a source. Labs, including bartonella, toxoplasmosis, CMV, etc. (you name it) were all normal. Dr still wants me to have PET/CT for some reason, probably since radiologist recommended it. Is there a chance FNAC could be falsely negative & potentially miss a low-grade lymphoma?

I had a similar problem for two years before finding the right answers. I would highly recommend that along with the typical CBC blood workup your GP will do also insist they do a blood smear. That is where they examine the blood under a microscope for unusual shapes or sizes. I finally insisted on this and was able to catch early stage NH lymphoma when every doctor and specialist would tell me I was fine. They found some abnormal monoclonal B cells that ended up leading to flow cytometry and then a diagnosis. It's an easy test that is overlooked IMO.

Zone II cervical lymphadenopathy could come from an ear problem, a dental problem, a posterior pharyngeal problem, or several other etiologies to include insect and arthropod bites and neoplasms. With your other symptoms, I would recommend seeking the aide of a physician for further evaluation.
