Yikes! That is a horrible place to be bit. I do not see obvious signs of infection at the moment, but given the sensitive nature of facial bites, I would start antibiotics just to make sure.

Facial bites are usually from a known dog... But, if there are any questions be sure and notify your health department for rabies evaluation.

Best of luck!

Good that you've already started taking antibiotic. However, you need to make sure you get vaccinated with anti rabies vaccine for safety reason either the Dog status of rabies is known or not and kept the area clean . Your doctor may also recommend application of triple antibiotic ointment to the open area. Wish you good luck.
You are already on Augmentin, so I would not be too concerned about bacterial infection What I will be concerned about is rabies. If the dog is in your neighborhood, find out its immunization status against rabies. If uncertain, go to ER for anti rabies serum and anti rabies vaccine. Call daily to be sure that the dog is still alive over the next 2-3 weeks. If it is reported dead within this period, that suggests it had rabies when you were bitten. Report to the health department so that the dog's head will be examined at autopsy to confirm the diagnosis. I wish you the best outcome.
Facial bites should be evaluated by your doctor.
No doubt it is inflamed as the redness indicates. Any cat or dog bite that causes puncture wounds has about a 20-30? Chance of pasturella bacterial infection, so augmentin is given routinely. Infection doesn't always spread into a definitive cellulitis which describes an infection which is spreading more definitively. Take proper care of the area and the redness will likely fade in 2-3 days or less. If it pierced to be getting worse then I wouldn't hesitate to get rechecked since it's on your face.

Symptoms of infection from a dog bite occur within 12 to 24 hours of a bite. The area around the wound may be red and swollen. Swelling is a sign of inflammation, where the body is trying to fight off infection. Warmth or heat around the wound means the body is trying to kill off any invading infections.
All dog bites are infected no matter what, the germs in dogs mouth are always infectious to open wound and the antibiotic you are taking is appropriate, if it feels warm and if pus is coming out or if you have fever with pain at the wound site that is getting worse, you need to see you primary because the infection could be due to anaerobes kind of germs and you doctor will have to add or change the antibiotic, now if the dog is a stray animal, it need to be observed for few days to see if it has behavioral problem and rabbies

If this area is warm to touch or you are experiencing increasing tenderness with or without drainage you should seek further evaluation.
