spreading infections

Can bad teeth cause spread of infections to others? My girlfriend doesn't want to kiss me because of the fact that I have bad front teeth and broken teeth and feels like I may spread bacteria or infection to her.

Sadly, bad teeth are more of a hazard to the individual than their significant other. But the only way "infection" could be spread is in the unlikely event (but possible!) that you "bit" your girlfriend. But perhaps your girlfriend is using this approach rather than being more direct. And that is having to tell you, a 39 year old man, that it is unpleasant and a turnoff to have to be intimate when your oral care is so poor, and you seem unwilling or unable to understand why. Bad and broken teeth besides being unsightly and unesthetic also can impart a foul odor, further making intimacy unpleasant. Finally, your lack of concern for your teeth and its impact on personal appearance may be an even more important reason in play. You owe it to yourself (not to mention your girlfriend) to "clean up" the situation. See a dentist.

Yes it can. You are not born with the bacteria that causes cavities. It has to be transmitted to you through some form. Once it is present it will stay unless treated. Many times there are patients that go a half their life without a cavity, then they start dating someone who has cavities then they get cavities. I am not a relationship counselor, but I would suggest visiting a oral health care provider to have this issue addressed. More health issues for yourself can arise, significant others aside, long-term if you don't deal with this issue sooner than later.
Not a pretty picture. Take care of your teeth. Yes you could spread bacteria and infection to your girlfriend.
Gross. Take care of your teeth. Yes you could spread bacteria and infection to your girlfriend.
Your girlfriend is correct. Tooth decay is caused by bacteria breaking down sugars which creates acids that destroy your teeth. A healthy mouth has "good" bacteria that can be protective; unhealthy mouths become overrun by "bad" bacteria that can cause tooth decay and this can be spread to others.
Yes, and it is spreading through out your own body!
She could be right. On the other hand, if her teeth looked like yours would you want to kiss her? Hmmmmm. Get them corrected, it's worth it.

Usually halitosis or bad breath is due to bacteria !

If you do have gum disease, or severe tartar, broken tooth and decay, the bacterial accumulation from your mouth can be transferred to a recipient via kissing!

See an expert dentist, to diagnose the cause of your bad breath, and take care of it asap, It is not health for you either.

The sooner the better, and then you will feel amazing.
Unfortunately the answer is yes, cavities are caused by bacteria like other infections, and can be spread from person to person
Broken and bad teeth are a result of excessive dental plaque and dental decay. Excessive plaque when it stays above the gum line will cause decay. When plaque migrates below the gum line it creates bone loss and gum infection. So yes, if you have bad teeth and gums you can transmit your bad oral bacteria to your girlfriend.
