Cramping after a LEEP

This is my second period since my LEEP procedure, and my period is lasting a lot longer than normal, not to mention I've been cramping for a week. Is this normal?

Not uncommon. Try Ibuprofen and if persists return to your gyn for care.

You need to be seen ASAP, as cramping and abnormal bleeding after a month or two, are complications of the loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP). Three weeks was the maximum time-frame for the commonly anticipated vaginal bleeding after the LEEP. You need an antibacterial therapy. It is also likely, that this time the specialist will consider cryotherapy. Before you would see your doctor, don't douch, don't use tampons, don't lift a weight more than 2 kg, make sure you consume enough fiber to avoid constipation, and refrain from sexual intercourse. Stop using Lutera until your bleeding is stopped (although the hormonal content of Lutera has nothing to do with your current bleeding, as any other OC Lutera too, changes the cervical mucus and may contribute to complication after the LEEP). Best of luck.
This could be due to

scar at the LEEP site

causing narrowing

of the cervical os.
It is not uncommon to have changes of your period after any gynecologic procedure but what you describe could be an infection of the operative site or an area of erosion which needs to be treated - it would be wise to call your doctor and be evaluated very soon.
No I don't think this is normal. Very rarely the endocervical canal may be partially closed off after a LEEP or cone biopsy resulting in increased cramping and prolongation of menstrual flow causing a hematrometra (essentially back up of the menstrual debris) I would get an ultrasound to rule this condition out. By the way did you see your Gyn after the LEEP procedure? I usually see my LEEP patients 6 weeks after the procedure to make sure their endocervical canal is open. Good luck.
I would be a little concerned about the possibility of infection. I agree that you need an examination soon to rule out a bacterial infection at the site of the Leep biopsy. You could also have some infection that has ascended further into the endometrial cavity, so don't blow this off. Go get a check-up!

No. It is necessary to see your gyn doctor to check,to see whether the cervix has healed properly. Naturally,no sex until healing is complete.
