Dear Sir/Madam

Bell's palsy is considered an idiopathic; Virus are suspected, but no one knows exactly why, other than possible body reacting to virus infection, that reaction causes facial nerve dmage. BUt one needs to find, if that is the cause, or one may have tumor, Multiple sclerosis, aneurysm, stroke, etc; so before someone makes diagnosis, they need to do many tests, to finalize diagnosis.

There are people who injure, stay out in cold, one who had preceding some viral infection like common cold, etc like preceding history is found in many cases.

Hope this helps.

Wish you best.

Bells palsy is the paralysis of one side of the face (both upper and lower) caused usually but not exclusively by a viral infection of the facial nerve. it is thought to be poreceded by a viral infection of for instance the ear etc, but not proven.

Bell's palsy is a virus in the basal ganglia of the cranial nérves. That could also involve the entire peripheral reeves

It is caused by that virus in one's system .

The virus could be already in the body system worsened by foods like nuts, popcorn , wheat, chocolate. caffein and stress etc.

It could form ahesion and become very painful and paralyze the facial and eye and forehead muscle .

Tx by excellent acupuncture in the location of the peripheral nerves including the cranial nerves and with taking L lysone about 3000mg daily before food for at least 10 days ASAP recommended ,

See Dr. Makim's explanation. Bell's Palsey is a condition. It is the unilateral paralysis of the facial nerve. It can have many causes. It is thought to often be caused by a virus that may have been caught recently or contracted many years ago such as chicken pox. The virus is thought to attack the nerve fibers themselves or cause inflammation with swelling in the canal the nerve passes through, leading to nerve damage. It is important to rule out other causes such as tumor and neurologic diseases like multiple sclerosis.
