  1. Ask DoctorBase is a free service for patients on the DoctorBase platform - currently servicing over 6 million American patients of record.
  2. All answers submitted by healthcare professionals (you) are for entertainment purposes only and do not constitute doctor-patient relationships. All patients must agree to this before using Ask DoctorBase.
  3. Our software and our Marketing Engineering staff review each answer and optimize your answers for keywords valuable to your specialty. It is a well kept secret that doctors (you) - not SEO consultants - are the ones who have the most valuable content prized by search engines. Is it possible to be pregnant again? Yes.

Most likely your hormone levers grin the previous surgery are still falling and will show up as positive on a home pregnancy test.

You will need to see your doctor and have a pregnancy hormone level done two days apart to see if the level is rising or dropping.

You should be getting pregnancy hormone (HCG) levels to make sure there is no placental tissue remaining. HCG can

take a while to decay to non-pregnant levels, so pregnancy test can remain positive for some weeks even if all of the pregnancy tissue was removed at surgery. You should not

have unprotected intercourse until you get the "all clear" from your doctor; that is until blood levels of HCG are in the

non-pregnant range. A new pregnancy will complicate the issue and put you at risk.
Listen to the OB/GYN specialists.

It is standard to instruct our patients to use alternative contraception after these types of surgeries until the bhcg level is undetectable (<6) if it is an ectopic. For a miscarriage you should use an alternative form for at least 3 months to decrease the risk of another miscarriage. This is a discussion you need to have with your doctor. It is possible to still have a + ucg two weeks after a D&C but your bhcg should be dropping. If you did not use alternative protection you need to see your provider immediately.

Anything is possible, but to be sure I would recheck again in few days, and if still positive would follow up with your GYN. I would expect your test to become negative with in 2 weeks after the procedure.
