4 Reasons Why Ask DoctorBase™ is the Most Efficient Way to SEO and Establish Your Brand Online
- Ask DoctorBase™ is a free service for patients on the DoctorBase platform - currently servicing over 6 million American patients of record.
- All answers submitted by healthcare professionals (you) are for entertainment purposes only and do not constitute doctor-patient relationships. All patients must agree to this before using Ask DoctorBase™.
- Our software and our Marketing Engineering staff review each answer and optimize your answers for keywords valuable to your specialty. It is a well kept secret that doctors (you) - not SEO consultants - are the ones who have the most valuable content prized by search engines. Ask DoctorBase™ "unlocks and optimizes" your content in the most efficient manner possible with today's technology.
- Finally, the doctor who provides the most popular answer - "the Featured Answer," gets an added benefit by allowing patients to write rave reviews about your expertise - reviews that are submitted to both Google and Google Local through our Preferred Data Provider relationship.
Ask Dr. Molly if you have questions or want a personal session on how to best use Ask DoctorBase™ for maximum marketing impact.
What is this purple bump?
A picture would be great. Purple is a sign of a vascular component (blood or blood vessel). If it is round or dome shaped, smooth and soft (compressible) it could represent a venous lake or vascular malformation. If it is firm it could represent an angiokeratoma - which are common benign lesions that occur in this area. Of course, a proper exam with a skin specialist is recommended to exclude serious conditions.
Purple means blood or melanin[pigment]. A photo would help, but without it I would suggest it could be a blood vessel, an infected ingrown hair from close shaving, an irritated mole, or even an early manifestation of a condition called hidradenitis. You should have a Gynecologist or Dermatologist evaluate it.
Skin lesions are always difficult to diagnose without seeing the actual bump.
As such you should see your GYN to get a better answer.
The most likely diagnosis is an angiokeratoma. Look up the pictures on line to see if this is what it looks like. They are composed of surface blood vessels (dilated capillaries). They may become hard and bleed if accidentally scratched, or a harmless clot may form in the lesion, changing the color to dark purple or black overnight.
