is it ok for my veins to be so visible?

I'm 27 and do mild working out, but when I do, veins on my arms are much more pronounced, usually until I go to bed and wake up the next morning. Is this a problem?

This is totally normal. Veins swell as they evacuate more blood from muscles swollen with blood after working out. Having a low body fat percentage also makes them more visible.

This normal. It is not a problem.

Upper extremity pronounced veins are typically within normal unless accompanied by neurological symptoms, swelling of the arm, pain or signs of arterial disease or tissue damage of digits. Workup may be necessary in symptomatic patients and may include an initial ultrasound and base of the neck X-ray. Consult with your local vascular surgeon.

The arm and hand vein distention that you notice is not dangerous and will not cause problems in the future for U. It Is more a cosmetic problem that you have. It is probably more a inherited trait that you have. The hand veins can be treated with sclerotherapy if you desire.

This is the expected response to exercise. Blood flow increases in your veins and they become more prominent and visible. It is not a problem at all.

I understand your "problem" is bilateral and that you have observed this for long time. I am convinced all is normal. Please understand that during workout especially when your arms have to support your body weight such as in pushups or when you lift weights there is need for increased oxygen to your arm muscles involved in the exercise you perform. Your heart will increase rate and blood volume to your arms that has to be accommodated by your veins that will bring blood back to the heart. Besides, in weight lifting you also increase the abdominal and thoracal pressures. This could also dilate your facial as well as arm veins too. As by the morning all is well, just proves that your condition can be considered "normal". However, if concerned please go see your family practitioner who should examine you and possible send you to have a chest Xray
It is a perfect normal condition to have your veins more apparent depending of the activity, the climate, heat etc..

It really depends what you mean by "mild working out". If you are lifting heavy weights, then this is probably a normal occurrence. While some people used to think that veins appearing underneath the skin had to do with your circulatory system being overworked, this is probably not the cause at all. The bulging veins may not even have to do with veins at all. First of all, working out makes you leaner and makes the veins more visible underneath the skin. Also, when you work out, and particularly when you lift weights, the body's plasma is preferentially shunted into the muscles causing them to swell and harden. This hardening of muscles pushes your normal veins to the surface and makes them more pronounced.

There are some signs to worry about when lifting heavy weights though, including sudden numbness down the arm or prominent veins on one side compared to the other as this could be a sign of thoracic outlet syndrome. Also I would take it easy on the heavy weights as this may damage your joints. But I would say this is a normal and healthy phenomenon that you are experiencing and I would continue working out!
No this is not a problem and is likely due to the increased arterial blood flow to your muscles during your exercise which has to return through your veins, thus the engorged appearance..
