Perhaps the previous two responses were meant to be humorously. In any case the way your sentence is worded is that your daughter is Bipolar but YOU are taking the medication. I will assume that's just a typo. The former standard for treatment of Bipolar Disorder was Lithium, which, among other things, caused weight gain. Nowadays there are a number of medications that are used very successfully with little or no side effects. Please consult a psychiatrist (MD) with expertise in mood disorders for a consultation.
