I have some questions regarding the superficial dorsal vein. Mine seems to stick out quite far and appears to be causing me pain during intercourse as a result. I was circumcised as an infant and am curious about what is done during that process and how it works afterwards. 1. Is the superficial dorsal vein closed, attached to something else, or just left to heal by itself with no additional treatment? 2. Following the circumcision, does it still fill with blood or is it not functional?

2. You may have thrombosis of the dorsal vein. If so it will correct itself in time, and just become small and fibrotic with no further problems. Nothing to be concerned about.
