there are a multitude of causes for a toothache, and sometimes there can be more than one cause. just some of the causes are: decay (caries), abscessed tooth, mobile tooth, cracked tooth, hyperocclusion, grinding, clenching, earache perceived as a toothache, trauma, deep restoration, hyperemic pulp, gum disease, sinus infection (upper posterior teeth only), etc.....see your dentist!
