Central Morris Neurology Office Information

Your symptoms are unrelated to your cell phone. You have a pinched nerve that supplies the lateral thigh. The nerve wraps under the inguinal ligament and then spreads to supply the lateral thigh. The nerve involved is lateral femoral cutaneous nerve and the clinical syndrome is meralgia paresthetica. Usually seen in manual laborers wearing a heavy tool belt, police officers or ladies who wear tight girdles. It may also indicate a propensity of your peripheral nerves, so that an evaluation for possible peripheral neuropathy is warranted.
