Severe pain a week after an extraction is not normal, unless you smoked after the extraction. The white film on your gums is normal, if you are not brushing or wiping around the extraction site, which is very understandable with that much pain. The white film is an accumulation of dead gum cells that have not been brushed away. Regardless, if you are in that much pain after a week, you should go back to the person who did the extraction for follow up care. Only that person knows the circumstances and problems that may have occurred.
