"I went to "Doc" for my first root canal. Leary of all the stories and nightmares of this supposedly painful procedure, I went to Dr. Spruill with my concerns.

Dr. Spruill sat down with me and talked at length about my fears and expectations, and in terms I could understand, described his capabilities, the procedure, and what the real expectations should be. After this interview, I not only knew I was in the hands of the right professional, but I walked away with the feeling that he really cared about me as a person, not just as a patient.

To make a long story short, not only was the procedure a success, but I experienced ZERO pain. In fact, I even fell asleep during the procedure. The quality of his work and the personal demeanor he afforded me with every subsequent visit is a quality everyone should seek in a health care professional.

I have visited his office recently, and have seen the investment, both financially and educationally, Dr. Spruill has made in his dentistry practice. It is a welcome feeling to see someone so "into" his profession, that he constantly strives for ways to provide cost effective, state-of-the art, and complete services to his clients.

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Spruill to anyone considering any dental procedure or dental maintenance."

Questions & Answers Q&A

A. There can be many reasons why your teeth are sensivie to cold. If the sensitivity is isolated to one tooth it could be one of the following reasons:
1) Cracked enamel
2) Leaky restoration (filling)
3) New decay
4) Exposed or abraded root surface
Rarely is it necessary to do a root canal to solve the problem. Often times wheh it is cracked enamel a crown to encase the tooth is indicated, if a leaky fillling then replace the filling, if new decay and not into the pulp of the tooth then a filling is indicated, if it is an exposed root then desensitization techniques or possibly a restoration over the abraded area could be indicated.
If teeth are generally sensitive in an area of the mouth then desensitizing dentifrices are indicated and if not successful then professional desensitization can be done.

Q: What got you into this specific medical field?
A:  I have wanted to be a dentist since the 9th grade when I wrote a vocational notebook about dentistry for a social studies class.

Q: What landed you in your city, and what is it that you like about the neighborhood?
A:  I had always wanted to practice in Colorado and my wife had graduated from Colorado State University in occupational therapy. We came to CSU for an OT seminar in 1970 and I traveled all over Colorado while she was at the... read more

The other day someone asked me what was unique about my practice and I said that we are modern and high tech, i.e. same-day-crowns (Cerec), digital radiography, etc. but that only puts us in the select  minority of the few dental offices which offer these services. What really makes us unique is that our patients get personalized care from the front desk to the hygienist to the dentist and back again. We constantly hear from patients that our all of our staff members go out of their way to... read more

Broke your tooth? And you have no time to wait for a crown to be made because of an upcoming wedding? Have you ever heard of CEREC? There are dentists who use this technique to repair your tooth (make your crown) in one appointment, and I happen to be one. Previously, if you broke a tooth, then you had to have “goop” impressions, have the tooth prepped, then have a temporary crown for 2-3 weeks.

The common problem here is that the temporary crown often comes off at an inconvenient time and or... read more

Often people will come to us with concerns about the appearance of their teeth. Since we meet the world with our smiles the quality of what we present may make a difference in how we are perceived by others. The importance of a pleasant smile appearance cannot be overstated and achieving the best one possible just happens to be our goal!

With our CEREC technology we can accomplish rather astonishing smile makeovers in one appointment. For instance a person may have one or more upper front teeth... read more

We deal with dental insurance on a daily basis and want to enlighten all our patients as completely as we can about dental insurance and our involvement with it.

We routinely assist our patients with their insurance whenever possible before performing any treatment. We never know exactly what any company will do in any given situation regarding participating provider status. For example, just this week we received payment from Delta for an HP employee (HP had MetLife up until this year) and it... read more
