Can a mucous cyst be removed easily?

A mucous or ganglion cyst is often associated with arthritic spurs at the distal interphalangeal joint (near nail) and often with tendons more proximally. Excision is relatively easy but recurrence ranges up to 20%. Simultaneous removal of the spurring decreases the recurrence.
