Yes, what you are experiencing is normal. You will not know if your pre-op symptoms are gone for several weeks. Keep your incisions clean and feel free to cover with band aids if you like. Don't worry about the steri-strip falling off; it is likely the skin was closed by a sub cuticular absorbable suture which will be there for 6-8 weeks
