Q: What got you into this specific medical field?
A: An auto accident where the only actual help I received was from Chiropractic. Through the traditional path of the MD, I would still be taking those "big green pills" to this day! I saw another way with Chiropractic.

Q: What landed you in your city, and what is it that you like about the neighborhood?
A: The population mix allows me to be an opportunity to set an example for my community that I can only set being a Black Man in America. Coming to this community was through an educational opportunity.

Q: Where did you receive your undergraduate and professional degrees, and did you participate in any residencies?
A: Undergraduate BS from Jackson State University in Jackson, MS
Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College in Davenport, IA

Q: What year did you begin practicing?
A: 1995

Q: What investments in your practice equipment and facilities have you made?
A: This practice is only a year old and was started on a shoe string budget. Investments in equipment are in the plans as financial means become available. To date, we are just starting to grow. Plans include additional education tools to better educate my community of the Big Idea of Chiropractic.

Q: What procedures do you feel your practice excels in above others?
A: Having a natural empathy for this community because of my upbringing and connection to a community such as this. Taking the time to educate visitors of the benefits of a Chiropractic Lifestyle and answer question honestly, sincerely and completely when asked.

Q: What are your office hours?
A: Walk-In Hours: Monday & Wednesday Morning from 10 am to 1 pm and again on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 3 to 6 pm. All other times by Appointment Only. Appointments can be made by phone or online @ www.AkiikiSpinalCare.com

Q: What HMO or PPO providers are you in network with? Do you offer financing?
A: I offer Weekly & Monthly financing but I do not participate with any HMO or PPO.

Q: Do you accept any government programs or discount cards?
A: None, as my pricing structure affords an opportunity for all to participate that desire.

Q: What are the most challenging parts of your everyday practice?
A: Growing the business. New to the area with no family & few social opportunities. Visibility through grass roots office promotion might be the best answer to my most challenging aspect of daily practice.

Q: What are the best moments that make it worthwhile?
A: When someone indicates they are getting better in aspects of their lives other than the ones that brought them into the practice. An acknowledgement of the benefits of Chiropractic Care at this office.
