"I was so pleased with my first appoint with Dr. Ostwald. He was personable, friendly, and took the time to get to know me and make me feel comfortable. I've had some bad luck with dentists since moving to California. One dentist gave me fillings I'm not convinced I needed, 2 of which were done poorly. One of those led to a food pocket in my gum that has been bugging me for 5 years. My next dentist told me that pocket was "a result of growing older and it was something I'd "have to live with". Dr Ostwald and his staff both recognized this error immediately and fixed it for me in the same appointment as my cleaning. I went in expecting an average cleaning, and left having something that had caused me a great deal of discomfort and anxiety fixed. I was able to feel the difference immediately that day, and was so happy! I felt like past dentists had brushed off my concerned and Dr. Ostwald was so fantastic and knowledgeable. I'm so pleased, and my cleaning left my coffee stained teeth so polished and white! I will continue to see Dr. Ostwald for as long as I live in San Francisco! Thanks so much. So happy today!"

Tom"I lost a tooth to re-absorbtion. Dr. Oswald patiently removed the tooth and worked closely with my periodontist to insure the implant was perfect. On another occasion I had to have a root canal redone. Again Dr. Oswald worked with the endodontist to make sure that the tooth was saved. I wanted a new crown and Dr. Ostwald make a new crown, perfectly, in his office in less than two hours. He does great work."

I really like Dr Ostwald's concept of keeping an on going point system/report card on dental health so the general improvement(s) can be objectively evaluated. The well thought out post-dental care “party favor” further sweetened my experience! Now I have wonderful providers, tools and techniques to maintain a healthy smile. "Going to the dentist, fun, don't get carried away, but making it pleasant and easy...absolutely! Having a solo practitioner and a really kind staff makes all the difference. For the past four years Dr. Ostwald has been replacing my aging fillings with porcelain fillings and crowns. Gone is the look of those silver fillings, and much healthier as well. These appointments require good anesthetic and he is terrific. Quick, careful, completely knowledgeable, and then I'm numb! The rest should be a piece of cake except I have Restless Leg Syndrome, so after about 15 minutes I have involuntary jerking in my legs making the whole procedure agonizing for me to lie there and challenging for him to work on someone who moves. It has gotten worse over the years, but we deal with it together by taking breaks at proper intervals. It takes a bit longer but, we get the job done.
The most important part is that I never feel like I am taking too much of Dr. Ostwald's time. He understands.
