I hope by today you are feeling better. If not I would see a urologist. Though night time urination often increases with age, it doesn't always and doesn't always have to. When you share you do not have a bladder infection, did you already see a doctor and be tested? Pain is a sign of inflammation however, also depending on exactly what is infected and where the infection starts, the bladder pain can be a symptom of bladder infection. It can also be a symptom of other things. Without a formal exam I really cannot speculate. I would strongly encourage you to see your PCP if you are still having discomfort of any kind including new symptoms that may not seem related.
Hopefully you have or can find some answers. :-)
