These are very difficult to treat because all the treatment modalities listed are acceptable but you may do them and have no imprvement.
1. surgery - i dont think this is a good option for your scar at all
2.lasers - may help with discoloration
3. fillers - very difficult to under a scar sometimes to get scar to pop out and restore contour.
4. limit sun exposure - this is always a good idea for skin as sun exposure destroys skin elasticity and accelerates aging process of skin plus can cause skin cancer.
5. biocorneum and other silicone based scar products- works well in immediate post operative period. doesnt work at this stage.
6. do nothing - this is always an option because you can do all these treatments and meet with double board certified whatever and i have seen this - people taken on 10 plus treatments and still be unhappy - or treatments could make it worse. so doing nothing should be a very important option to understand.
