"I went for a 5 month follow up from surgery and had a great visit with Dr. Mentz. I love my breasts, brow lift, and liposuction results - and so does my husband! After inquiring about botox and fillers I only waited a short time (considering I had no appointment for this) and received both. Renee did a FABULOUS job with the filler in several areas. I had that before somewhere else by a reputable plastic surgeon and had bruising, swelling, and soreness which sometimes happens. Renee did it quickly and left NO MARKS. NOTHING! Not even a red dot at the injection site. I was amazed. They even brought me some powder to use since she had removed my makeup for the injections. I went on with my day like nothing had happened and wasn't embrarassed to pick up my 3 children from their schools. No bruising, swelling, or pain later either. I will definately return in the future to Dr. Mentz and his staff for any other procedures."

I searched for a couple of years, but I was unable to locate a surgeon in my own area, the Rio Grande Valley, who made me feel like they understood my concerns regarding my breast situation (re-do). Instead, I felt like they were just interested in my money.
Then a friend from Houston recommended a consultation with Dr. Mentz. After receiving and reviewing Dr. Mentz's portfolio, which listed his extensive background and accomplishments, I thought perhaps he was going to be too "ritzy" for me. I'm just a simple girl from south Texas.

"Before my surgery I did my homework on plastic surgeons. I had consultations with a few doctors and checked out several others and their credentials. I believe Dr Mentz is one of, if not THE most qualified plastic surgeon in the U.S. I had a brow, face, neck, and rhinoplasty, all done in 4 hours. Other surgeons needed at least 6 hours for the multiple procedures Everyone I know tells me that I look very natural and people who haven't seen me in a while say that I look great. I turned 60 this year and had a total facelift and rhynoplasty. My Husband loves his younger looking wife, he said it made him feel younger. Friends asked if it was painful and I told them no, just a little uncomfortable. I think the cooling mask was largly responsible for that. I am so glad that I had the work done and I love my cute new nose. I would do it all overagain, but since I am 60 years old now I don't have to.

I used a surgeon in Houston but did not check testimonials. After my surgery with the first surgeon, I found a number of unsatisfied patients. I explained my situation to Dr. Mentz and that I was hiding in my home for 4 months because of my horrible nose job. He assured me this was an easy fix and I could see his sympathy for my deformed nose. I felt confident from the first consultation and other pictures of before and afters. There was one procedure I was not emotionally prepared for but Dr. Mentz went out of his way to resolve my issue quickly and with compassion. My issue stemmed not from being uninformed but more from the side-effects even though the doctor and I spoke about them before the procedure. My only suggestion would be to possibly have one of the nurses be a bit more involved with the patient from start to finish, to ensure the doctor is proactively made aware of any complications both physically and emotionally. I felt that there were several nice, professional people that showed me care but the downside to that is when I did experience a complication I felt a bit out of sorts as to who to contact and felt a little like I had to navigate the staff to get to the doctor. Again, Dr. Mentz was excellent and I would go through it again to receive the skill of his treatment and the bedside manner which resulted in an understanding and compassionate treatment. The staff was very professional with me, and again my only suggestion would be to maybe try to have a staff member, nurse-type available to me from start to finish, calling me, counseling me and reiterating the fact that the doctor is available, concerned and ready to smooth the minor bumps in the road that come with these types of procedures. I have been to other facilities and seen other surgeons. Dr. Mentz distinguished himself in my opinion and I would recommend his services to anyone, but the patient should still give thoughtful consideration to the one, two or three week journey that awaits them when undertaking procedures of these types."

"I had surgery about 3 months ago for puffy eyelids and kind of a saggy neck. Dr. Mentz and Lupe helped me sort out exactly what my issues were with an imager and measurements. My face, neck and eyes are recovered now after surgery. I had some eye dryness for about a month, as he warned me before surgery and he gave me special instructions and drops until it all went away. After all that I am happier with my face than I have ever been. Now I look younger and feel fresher.
