Unless you are profusely hemorrhaging or oozing, meaning you actually see heme (blood) coming out, you should not re-pack the sites. If you need to re-pack, only do it once. Make sure you apply moderate pressure (bite-down) for about one hour. Take a sip of water before you remove the packs. If it still gives you trouble, use a green or black (caffeinated) tea bag. Moist it and place it where the gauze packs were. You will have to hold it with moderate pressure for 2 hours this time. That will stop any kind of micro-hemorrhage, even if you are anticoagulated or suffer from a mild-to-moderate hemorrhagic condition.
