Appointment was on Saturday AM and apparently an emergency came up because appointments during the time I was scheduled for all seemed delayed. Was not given any updates when I checked in or while waiting. Assistant who took my blood pressure and X-rays was nice, but apparently preoccupied; I felt the x-ray receiver/film holders were pushed in my face without a word or two of warning and "please" was not used when requesting me to do something to facilitate the work. Waited 40 minutes to see hygenest and then another 30 minutes after she finished, to see the doctor. I understand that things happen which cannot be avoided, and sometimes schedules slip, but I think that a bit of interaction / updates help to address this.
I have always felt that examination chairs at the new Sugar Land Facility were uncomfortable; they do not get better with long waits."

I practically stopped him from walking out of the door to ask a few questions as he hurried to his next patient. He was obviously in a big hurry to move on. Did not take any time to talk but rather tell me what he was going to do and leave."

"I called around 9:00am to make an appointment...and they were able to fit me in almost immediately, with the understanding that they would try to do any needed work the same day as the initial exam...which they were able to do. The operator that scheduled me was pleasant and helpful...and careful not to overcommit on the same-day work possibility.

Being a new patient, I had to fill out the requisite paperwork, of course...but within 5 minutes of turning in the paperwork, I was called in. Dr Joe and Sherrie worked with me.

Sherrie was great at explaining everything she was doing and very patient when I asked questions. She seems to have a true desire to ensure that patients are comfortable and well taken care of.

Dr Joe, though very busy and jumping from patient to patient, took time to thoroughly explain the diagnosis, options, recommendations, etc. He came off as experienced, professional, and competent.

Even though Dr Joe and Sherrie were busy, they exhibited excellent "bedside manners," which was a bit of nice surprise.

Overall, excellent experience, and would definitely recommend this location, as well as Dr Joe and Sherrie."

I was later shown an 'estimate' of over $3800 to perform a laser gum treatment and 2 crowns. I had to bring the estimate home and look over it again to figure out that the treatment I was seeking was $1200. "

"My experience with Made Ya Smile Dental in Sugar Land was the best dental experience I've ever had in my life. As a new patient, I really wasn't sure what to expect for my first visit. It turned out to not only meet but exceed my expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly, including every single person from the receptionist to the hygienist to the dentist. They made me feel so calm and comfortable - something I am not used to when I've visited other dentists in the past. They were quick and efficient, yet detailed and thorough. I really could go on and on about how amazing the people and the service was. Overall, it was an absolutely amazing experience and I am so glad that I found them!"

After being brought in to the dentist chair, waited 10 minutes in most uncomfortable patient chair ever.

Dental hygenist was very pleasant when she arrived, but I think she was double booked and had to hurry to get work done. She is quite good though.

Then waited another 15 ninutes for dentist to show up to review issues. Dr Joe is great whne he is present, just that I don't like waiting 15 minutes at end of cleaning for him. I don't get to do my work then.

After Dr Joe left, I had a another 30 minutes of various waiting for someone to review the next visit plan. Finally I walked up to front where some of the office bimb's were having a heated discussion and said to me "Oh! I was just going to come back to see you. Had all the paperwork in their hands. I paid my bill, office person went over my plan there at the desk.

While the front desk staff has the redeeeming factor of being attractive, you would do better to find a battle ax Sargeant who takes care of your patients."

"The problem I have with Made Ya Smile is that I feel like I am at an auto dealership car lot. I have to see a special person to get a price. When I was quoted the price yesterday, the lady emphasized that the special on Lumineers would be ending soon. The price now is the same as the special I got last year. I don't like the misinformation given. The newcomer would only know what they are being told, but I have been coming to this location for a year and I was told the price would go up if I didn't act quickly and the price is now lower than it was last year because in addition to the $5995 price, you are offering $200 additional. This is the type thing you expect from a car dealership, not a dentist. Then there is the waiting. I was in the chair for over 3 hours yesterday and the procedures took probably about an hour total. It is difficult to make Made Ya Smile my permanent dental outlet with the Cadillac prices you charge and the amount of time spent waiting. Your staff is very pleasant and professional. I have no complaints there, but there are peripheral items that bother me."

"Waited 15 minutes in the lobby and then another 20 to 25 in the chair. I had x-rays last time I was there and they wanted to do them again. I have no pain or issues, so x-rays are not really needed so frequently and there is a lot out there regarding the negative impacts of repetitive dental x-rays to the brain and thyroid. The office manager told me that we get more radiation from the sun than x-rays, which is not true, especially considereing it is in such a small concentrated area. She then told me that this would be the same as her "going to the gynecologist and not letting him touch me". I found this comparison to be both illogical and more importantly rude. If a patient has done some research on x-rays, has no pain and just wants a 6 month cleaning with no x-rays, it would be good to have that done on time and without these type of comments. I wanted to leave, but since I had already put 40 minutes into this, I decided to stay and get that done. During my check out they wanted to charge me $67 for the exam and cleaning. I questioned this since I have insurance. After some research they finally did realize that I was insured and did not have to pay anything.

"I saw a crack on one of my bottom lumineers in a certain light with 15X magnification but nobody else sees it and I don't see it either with a regular mirror but they brought a magnification glass and he tried so(the doctor) to see it also and he could not see it . So maybe I am just glad that even if it is cracked that they would replace it at no cost and that they did not charge me to see me either. He assured me that if something happened to it that he would replace it but that he didn't want to hurt the natural tooth underneath by removing the lumineer because the trauma could hurt or wear down the tooth but if it stained there or if it cracked off that he would replace it. I felt better since it was not bothering me and even with 6X magnification he could not see it. He even asked me questions about my bite and asked to bite on some paper and then corrected my bite to alleviate the misalignment and biting improperly."
