Sounds like a strain or trigger point in one of the thigh muscles. They can remain for an extended period of time if not identified and treated. Probably the best approach would be to Find an Osteopath, Sportsmed, Chiro or good Physical Therapist to clarify the diagnosis and then find a treatment that works into the area of soreness.
