Squatting is often that exercise in the gym that folks can herniate a disc with. It sounds like just that from your description, but you might have also given yourself a hernia under all that weight squatting. so if the neurological exam and the lumbar mri don't match up with and injury to the roots contributing to the ilioinguinal, or genito-femoral nerves then make sure your dr. evaluates you for a hernia as well. It would be an unfortunate situation to have both. IIf you do have a disc problem then I would advise you seek out non-surgical spinal decompression before doing anything invasive. If you also have a hernia then you'll need to see someone for that too. good luck!
