"If I'm going to be travelling to Korea (south) do I need to get a Hep B vaccination? I got a hep b vaccination a few years ago. Do I need another one? And how long before my trip should I take it?"

Korea has no specific Hepatitis B requirement. That said, if you are planning an extended stay and there is a reasonable likilihood of having a possible blood or body fluid exposure, either because of an accident or through casual sex, than the CDC strongly recommends that you complete a series of three hepatitis vaccine injections over a period of 6 months. If you are uncertain about your vaccination status, simply ask your physician or local clinic to test your blood. Finally, if you do need a booster or a new series it is generally recommended that you complete the series at least 2 to 4 weeks prior to potential exposure to allow your body to build up immunity.
