What you have is defined as Post Menopausal Bleeding. The most common reasons for that are endometrial atrophy or an endometrial polyp which are both benign conditions 99% of the time. That said, it's never safe to assume that, as cancer and precanceraous conditions are still relatively common and are, of course, dangerous if not diagnosed quickly. Your doctor will likely want to examine you and perform additional testing to make sure you don't have any abnormal cells in both your cervix and endometrium (the inner lining of your uterus).
Lastly, while a negative pap smear is good news, it's only about 50-60%% accurate. Pap smears only become accurate collectively when you have done many over many years.
