"Dr. Hogan is a caring and compassionate dentist. His staff is also very friendly and professional. My family has been going to Dr. Hogan for 10 years. We chose Dr. Hogan based on a glowing referral from a friend, and we immediately came to like Dr. Hogan and his staff too. Less than a year ago, Dr. Hogan showed his compassion and dedication to clients when he took my phone call at home one week night. It was about 8:30 pm, and my daughter had just experienced trauma to her mouth during a varsity sports game. Dr. Hogan didn't hesitate to meet us at his office as soon as we were able to get there. He provided the necessary treatment for her fractured jaw and several dislocated teeth -- sparing us a trip to the emergency room. That was a HUGE relief for us to be seen and treated so quickly by the dentist that we know and trust. His follow-up care was superb, and although the injury did ultimately result in one root canal, I know it would have been worse if Dr. Hogan hadn’t met us in a timely way at his office that night. We will forever be grateful for his compassionate care. I would highly recommend him (and his staff) to anyone."
"I was very impressed, it started with the cleaning, which was the best I've ever had and when I asked about a front tooth I broke the night before, the dentist arranged to fit me in and fix it with a computer crown permanently in a couple of hours. It looks Awesome!!! I really loved it."
"He is a great doctor, I'm telling everyone about him. I was so nervous and he took great care of me."

I agree with your dentist, if you sucked your thumb, it is very likely that you are also a tongue-thruster and you teeth will start to relapse to their original pre-ortho position, or worse. I think you would be smart to enjoy the permanent retainer for at least a few years before considering any change.
Dental crowns (or caps) have been used to fix broken or decayed teeth for over one-hundred years. For most of this time, gold crowns were the best choice. But what if you don’t want to flash an 18-carat grin?
After that, a way was found to make a tooth-colored crown out of porcelain fused to metal...
