Prosthetic

Can a Periodontist elect to have a lab install the prosthetic after the original one was installed by the Periodontist, it seems every time the issue of breakage was found the lab came in " Perrin-Young" The lab came in for installation and removal, versus the Dr. Periodontist, is this standard actions taken by most perdontist?

The Periodontist does not typically install the prosthetic restoration on the implants. They usually insert implants and refer back to your general dentist or to a Prosthodontist. In Maryland, a lab technician is not allowed to work in the patient's mouth. I would suggest you pay a visit to a general dentist or prosthodontist to evaluate the issue of the frequent breakage. Implant treatment usually requires a team for follow up and routine care that a general dentist provides on an ongoing basis.
