Q: What got you into this specific medical field?
A: I like to approach issues and concerns with specific solutions, instead of trying to fit my solution to everyone's problem. I love to help patients achieve a healthier, better looking smile with plans catered specifically to their needs, schedule and budget.

Q: What landed you in your city, and what is it that you like about the neighborhood?
A: I came to Castle Rock because it provides a perfect mix of old-town feel with all the modern amenities. It's away from the big city, yet close enough for a night out or weekend away. I can't believe the amazing view I get to see everyday right out the front door of the practice.

Q: Where did you receive your undergraduate and professional degrees, and did you participate in any residencies?
A: In 1988, I received a BBA from the European University in Antwerp. My first job sent me to Houston, where I eventually entered the Rice University MBA program, graduating in 1992. When I made the decision to pursue my dream, I chose Baylor College of Dentistry to become a dentist. I was the highest ranked student over 4 years to remain a general dentist, because I like to provide all levels of service, rather than specialize in just one.

Q: What year did you begin practicing?
A: 2001

Q: What investments in your practice equipment and facilities have you made?
A: I have invested in a laser to provide comfortable, fast-healing treatment of gums and other soft tissues. I own the CEREC machine, so we can make our crowns in one visit, on the spot, for patient comfort and convenience. We operate digital radiographs to reduce radiation by up to 80% and we have all of our files on secure computers.

Q: What procedures do you feel your practice excels in above others?
A: We excel in listening to our patients and learning to understand what is important to each one. With this understanding we can create a plan to help achieve the ultimate level of oral health as defined by the patient.

Q: What are the most challenging parts of your everyday practice?
A: Currently, our biggest challenge is to understand all the different insurance plans and then providing a well-defined treatment plan within the parameters of that insurance. Most insurances do not want to interfere with the doctor-patient relationship, but based on fee schedules, exclusions and waiting periods, it can take its toll.

Q: What are the best moments that make it worthwhile?
A: The greatest moments are when we receive such wonderful results and the patients are so happy and comfortable with us that they refer their friends and family. Luckily, we achieve this level of satisfaction on a weekly, if not daily, basis.

Q: What are your office hours?
A: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8-5 with lunch from 12-1. Tuesday 7-4 with lunch from 11-12, Thursday from 9:30-6:30 with lunch from 1:30-2:30. Saturday by pre-paid appointments for larger cases.

Q: What HMO or PPO providers are you in network with? Do you offer financing?
A: We offer financing, both in-house and CareCredit. We are a member of most, if not all, insurance plans.
