I totally agree with Dr. Savage; your presentation of the chief complaint needs more clarifications. You need to be seen by a Doctor or a Physical Therapist for proper physical examination, they also need to know your age and other risk factors such as weight, edema or flatfeet as well. It could also be a sign of thrombosis in the saphenous vein close to your ankle. One or more of these could be a source or contributor to your ankle pain. You better visit a therapist if the pain persists.
