Hello. I am a 24 year old female who as of last year had extremely thick beautiful hair. As of a couple of months ago I noticed some thinning but figured it was just time for a hair cut. Within the past week I snapped out of my denial and noticed a lot of hair loss or thinning and a widening part which really scares me. Now my scalp is itchy and tingling. My thyroid levels are fine but my vit d is low. Could low vit d levels be causing this? What's going on ? Please help!

Go have your hormone levels checked. You may have elevated Testosterone levels. This is turn may turn to DHT which may cause hair loss. Certain types of cysts on the ovaries may produce elevated Testosterone. A pelvic exam is also a great idea. There are over the counter DHT blockers and prescription medications, but searching for the source is the first thing so see your doctor now.
