  • "Dr. Stoller seems great, I know of others that had been to him before."

  • "I came to see Dr. Stoller right after my Xray at Englewood Hospital, which showed a calcification in my left shoulder. Dr. Stoller took the time to do a thorough examination and refereed me for additional tests.
Shortly after the additional test results were received by Dr. Stoller, we scheduled a surgery. The day of the surgery Dr. Stoller was very clear about the process and his expectations. I felt safe and comfortable, though obviously nervous, with his staff and the facility.
During the surgery, it was discovered that my labrum was completely detached and required stitches at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions. I feel grateful that Dr. Stoller and his team did not hesitate and address the newly discovered issue on the spot.
Although it is true that the surgery I went in for was meant to put me out of commission for 6 weeks and in the end put me out for 6 months due to the extensive damage in my left should, I could not have picked a better ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON for this procedure.
Today my left shoulder functions as if nothing had ever happened, and for that I have Dr. Stoller and his team to thank!
I personally recommend Dr. Stoller and his team to all who are in need of the services of an ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON. As it looks now, I may be in need of additional services from Dr. Stoller and his team to fix the same problem with my right shoulder. For this I could not imagine going anywhere else.

  • "My father and I have both been seeing Dr. Stoller after car accidents. My father recently had surgery done by Dr. Stoller on his shoulder. One great thing I have found about Dr. Stoller is that he provides great notes and instructions for the physical therapist. This is one of the ways you know that he is thorough and caring about patients' healing processes after surgery (which you do not see often in surgeons. Most of the surgeons I have seen sort of abandon you in terms of treatment advice after surgery. They are all nice and attentive before surgery but after surgery, all you can get out of them is a prescription for physical therapy and a whole lot of "ask your physical therapist" answers.) Dr. Stoller actually cares for his patients after surgery, and also for patients that do not require surgery (like me, with my shoulder). He will send detailed notes and suggestions for the physical therapist, which they appreciate because they are not the ones that did the surgery and do not know what techniques the surgeon used unless told in the notes.

When my father was contemplating surgery, he sat with the two of us answering questions thoroughly and attentively for over an hour, with me interpreting for my father. I highly recommend Dr. Stoller. He is one of the few surgeons I have seen that constantly stays on top of new research and techniques while treating patients like people--taking the time to explain difficult-to-understand concepts and being an approachable individual.

Lastly, I just want to say, you know you've got a good doctor when they have good staff that remain with the doctor for years. Lourdes and Samantha are great. They are knowledgeable and great at listening, answering emails/messages, and getting stuff done right the first time. Together, they all seem to make up a really good team. If I ever need another orthopedic surgery, I will be going to Dr. Stoller and his wonderful staff.

You have osteoarthritis of your knee. A MRI is not the best indicator, I would strongly recommend a weight bearing X-Ray. If the arthritis is localized in either the inside or outside compartment of your knee then an unloading brace or a simple heel wedge may offer you some relief. Studies have shown that maintaing a strong knee improves function as well as reduces symptoms. Physical Therapy for closed chain exercises would be helpful. However continuing a program at home is necessary. If your synovium is hypertrophic, an arthroscopic total synovectomy with injection of Stem Cells would be indicated. Synvisc injections is a thick lubricant that makes your knee glide better reducing pain and symptoms. Over the counter remedies include ice packs compressed with sirsranrap , Omega 3 fatty acids, glucosamine chondroitin sulfate, and tumaric. Sometimes compound creams applied to the knee can relieve symptoms. A patella brace can reduce symptoms going up & down stairs , getting up from a sitting position or getting in & out of a car.
Most important do not let anyone talk you in for having a partial or total knee replacement. You are way too young. They need to be replaced every 10 -15 years. Each time it gets more difficult and complication rate goes up.
Good luck, you have a lot to do and will notice an improvement
