Unusual period or miscarriage?

I'm not sure if I have an unusual period or a miscarriage. My period started then stopped, then started again, and my cramps were extremely more painful than usual.

Assuming your periods are usually regular, this could've just been an ovarian/menstrual "hiccup" and of no concern. To rule out pregnancy, take a pregnancy test. Are you still bleeding? To control your cramps consider taking NSAIDS such as Motrin/Advil/ibuprofen, Aleve, Anaprox, Cataflam, etc...). A heating pad may also help.
